Narragansett Bay trip reports

Section#1

Bold point to Pawtuxet cove and return

Trip distance 9 miles

I started at bold point on Sunday May 11th.  Shortly before 9am. I paddled south along the east shoreline and crossed over to the west shoreline at fields point, this is where the “Save the Bay” headquarters is located.  I then continued down to the entrance of the Pawtuxet River. I paddled past a few marinas and had to stop before the bridge since the Pawtuxet is dammed up at this point I then turned around and at the entrance to the river is a large jetty. This jetty is attached to the George B. Salter grove, a park located in Warwick, RI. I beached the kayak and climbed up on the jetty and had lunch. There was a nice view from the jetty. On my return I paddled diagonally across the bay to Pomham Rocks Lighthouse.

Section#2

Pawtuxet cove to Conimicut point park and return.

Trip distance 9 miles

I started at the park on Sunday June 1st. shortly before 8:30 am. When I drove to the launch location it was sunny and warm, as I got close to the water the fog rolled in thick. I paddled along the shoreline in dense fog for about an hour, and then the sun finally broke thru. When I arrived at Conimicut point, I ate an early lunch, and relaxed on the beach.
